Bacon Mushroom Spinach Pasta
Ingredients
- 8 oz bacon, diced coarsely
- 8 oz spinach
- 8 oz mushrooms
- 1 can tomato sauce
- Minced garlic
- 1 lb pasta
- 1/2 cup cream (optional)
- Pepper, chili powder, and/or basil to taste
Instructions
Sauce
- Cook the bacon over medium heat until slightly crispy. Set aside in a bowl.
- Cook the mushrooms in the bacon’s grease until cooked to a desired amount. Halfway through, about a few minutes in, add the minced garlic.
- Pour in the can of tomato sauce and bring to a simmer.
- Add the spinach, pressing into the sauce so as to wilt. Once starting to wilt, add back in the bacon.
- Add pepper, chili powder, and/or basil if desired. Remove from heat. Stir in about half a cup of cream (or more, if feeling decadent).
Pasta
- Meanwhile, you should have been cooking your pasta. Add sauce to pasta and serve.
