Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a food processor.
  3. Add cold butter cubes and pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Transfer mixture to a bowl and stir in heavy cream and vanilla extract until dough comes together.
  5. Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently knead 2-3 times.
  6. Shape dough into a disk about ¾-inch thick.
  7. Cut into 8 wedges using a sharp knife.
  8. Place scones on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Brush tops with heavy cream and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  10. Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before serving.
