Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- ½ cup cold butter, cubed
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For Assembly
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream (for brushing)
- 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a food processor.
- Add cold butter cubes and pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Transfer mixture to a bowl and stir in heavy cream and vanilla extract until dough comes together.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently knead 2-3 times.
- Shape dough into a disk about ¾-inch thick.
- Cut into 8 wedges using a sharp knife.
- Place scones on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Brush tops with heavy cream and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before serving.
